Akwasi Poku is a Writer Director based in South London.

His first short film, 'LOCK OFF', supported by WE ARE PARABLE, had its theatrical release at 70 Odeon Cinemas in July 2021 through RadicalMedia & VERYRARE. 'LOCK OFF' garnered a number of international film festivals selections including Aesthetica Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival, Soul Fest & BBC Comedy Festival.

His second short film, 'The Therapist' was recentley launched at London's Curzon Hoxton with Minute Shorts and stars actors Ash Barba (Top Boy, Netflix) Brett Curtis (The Nevers, HBO) and Priscilla Fagbemi (Champion, BBC/Netflix) - The Therapist is also featured on Wetransfer's WEPRESENT Platform.

Akwasi has also worked on a number of narrative projects including The Kitchen (Netflix, Film 4, DMC Film) as a 2nd Unit Director, Black Ops (BBC Studio's Comedy) as a 2nd Unit Director and was a Directors Mentee on Season 6 of Black Mirror (Netflix, Broke And Bones) (Episode: Joan Is Awful).

He is currenly developing a number of original feature film projects and original IP projects across the Film, TV & Art spaces.
